About Halogen Material Combustion Unit
Halogen Material Combustion Unit is designed to safely perform the combustion of samples with halogen content. This is a small unit that helps the preliminary process of determination of halogen content suitable for international standards (like EPA, ASTM …).
Elements, that are in group 7A of the periodic table and are all nonmetals are called halogens. Halogens are very reactive elements. Halogens can be found in many materials which are being used of different areas of industry. Examples include; chemical, water and sanitation, plastics, pharmaceutical, paper, textile, cement, military, and petroleum industries.
HMY unit is suitable for pre-combustion procedures of solid and liquid samples to be analysed in Ion Chromatography or Ion-Selective Electrode Method.
Halogen resistant decomposition vessel is included in the standard accesories. Using this unit it is safe to perform analysis of the samples that are highly reactive.
Using the integrated touch screen, it is possible to perform calculation after secondary analysis of the samples.
How HMY Works?
The sample to be analyzed is placed in the decomposition vessel (halogen resistant) resistant to high pressure. The vessel is placed in the analysis chamber filled with water. The sample in the vessel is ignited by high pressure oxygen (30 bar) and electrodes. During the analysis the water inside the chamber is continuosly circulated around the vessel (as suitable to international standards). After the analysis the water inside the chamber is drained and the vessel is ready for additional process.
